I hate being right redux

Post by John Eppstein »

Is anybody watching the news?

Y'all here know that I've considered myself a bit of a paranoid for a long time.

Recent events have made me reconsider. The pandemic, after a short reprieve, has become MUCH worse, and in portions of the country that were not affected much previously. Half (or more) the nation is burning, and our so-called "leadership" isn't doing a damn thing about it. It looks like hurricanes are, this year, difficult to find singly - they now come in 6-paks. Recent revelations from Bob Bernstein are showing that Rump is not nearly as stupid as assumed, he's known what's going on for a long time and has been intentionally manipulating it to his advantage. Te evidence points to Rump believing in climate change and is using it to political advantage - who are the people hardest hit? Those in areas with brown skinned majorities, that's who, along with those with large Democratic registration. Rump has harnessed the climate as a weapon, and a very deadly and destructive one, against his perceived enemies. We are, in fact, seeing many cases of armed "brownshirts" in the streets, making peaceful demonstrations appear violent.More and more people in charge of key US departments are being replaced by toadies with zero qualifications except absolute loyalty to Rump, not to the USA. ALL of our social and local media have been infiltrated by people who are either Russian propagandists or dupes who are following that playbook, down to my local town newspaper - The head of my local winery (who are being forced to close soon),l who is as anti-Rump as anybody, published an op-ed supporting small open-air gigs by local musicians (who are really hurting), only to be viciously attacked by Rumpies - apparently only two of them who wrote half of the 13 (before my 3) answer posts, some having nothing at all to do with the subject at hand - just Rumpie propaganda.

And there's more. Lots more.

I no longer believe that Rump is a "useful idiot" for Putin - I now believe that he is an active agent and probably has been for 2 or 3 decades.

If we don't win this coming election - and fend off all the crap that's bound to follow if it happens - the USA has had it - we'll just be a client state to Russia. I don't know if we can win that.

And that's ignoring all the crap about the Virus, the utter destruction of the central health establishment, etc. Rump views the virus as a weapon against his enemies, that has become clear since Bernstein reported that he KNEW about the virus in January, if not before.

VOTE, PEOPLE!!! Research in advance what is necessary in your area. It may be too late to work, but it's all we have left - I DON'T want a full-blown revolution here because we would likely lose, since Dems are anti-gun.

I really want to get back to just making music, but that doesn't seem likely.

VOTE! Please?

It's not paranoia when they're really after you.

I'm voting. I still feel like we're fucked. It has been one hell of a wake up call of a year for this country.

But it is hard to know if everyone feels like that, or will do anything about it. I'm currently extremely worried about the way the media is handling current events, possibly leading us to a repeat of 2016. But I hope I am wrong.

I hope so too. I still hold out hope, and frankly the main reason I've been holding on is to vote in this election.

I'm 70 years old. Not much chance of my music ever getting recognition. But can't give up before this election, almost certainly the most important in our history.

I do believe that we have the majority in the country, but am not at all certain that that matters anymore.

So far, pretty much all my analysis and predictions have proven spot on. I don't like that. I'd MUCH rather being wrong.

I watch MSNBC quite a bit. I think they're pretty straight and right about most things. Don't know if it makes any difference, but we need to continue to act as if it does.
