He ran as an FDR Democrat.
And exit polls suggested that Republicans dismantling Obamacare was a big part of what people didn’t like.

Both these things are very encouraging signs.
Even as the right dishonestly tries to spin Lamb as “conservative”
He’s NOT.

FDR Democrat, yeah. Funny you'd mention that...

Way back in the '30s my dad had a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. He was pretty well liked in the community and was a big FDR fan in a district that was heavily Republican, so to help Roosevelt he decided to run for Congress. The strategy worked - while he did not win his own race he picked up enough support from his neighbors to enable Roosevelt to carry the district and subsequently the state.

The point to be learned is that playing to the people in the local area is [s]often[/s] always more effective than playing "big issue" partisan politics.

Which is something I'm been getting at for some time. You don't emphasize issues that will alienate the people you're trying to get, you emphasize issues that will attract them.

The rich and their corporations are out to screw You.
And government can be the force for good to help you.

It’s a simple message.
And it’s the counter message to the “government is the enemy “ message from the right.

The government IS THEIR enemy! That's the whole problem.

But not this government, unfortunately.

Democrats win by making the case that government is often the RIGHT answer.

they lose by agreeing with the republiklans that govt. is the problem.

They also win by pointing out that government corruption is the problem and that it doesn't need to be corrupt the way the SS party operates it.

Have you noticed who the government (if that term is even applicable anymore) is these days?

They're the problem, believe me. we need to get rid of them and put things back the way they were, only, hopefully, better.
