Stereo narrowing plug-in...?

Post by keks »

Hi there, guys and gals,
I posted a song of mine here.
Now, a mix note was to bring the brass a bit in, panning wise.
The tracks I would have to bring more to the middle are stereo tracks coming out of Superior drummer.

Does anybody know a plug in that works on sterero tracks and brings in the tracks a little to the center?
All I found while searching were M/S Stereo wideners which are totally not helping...
Any ideas?
I'm kinda hesitant to rip the session apart for a little nudge on panning

All the best,
the keks

What DAW are you using?

Also, some widening plugins do narrowing too. IIRC S1 does this too.

I think some of the BX stereo plugins have a width knob that can go to lus or minus.

I'm on Reaper.

They are all M/S it seems, but M/S does not get moar Hihatz into the other earbud.
On speakers it seems fine to me, but on cans the drums sound disconnected...

Well if you don’t want to do it with MS then you don’t need a plug in. Just pan the sides in a bit.

Ever tried iZotope Ozone Imager?

It seems to be free now, so maybe worth a try.

If you right-click the track's pan pot and choose stereo pan, you will get a width knob that you can pull down to narrow the stereo field.

Explore JS plugins! I believe there's one called Stereo Enhancement which can do width control.
Later today I will look for relevant JS plugins.

But REAPER already has width control right there on the track panel!

Boz even made a plugin to replicate it because he got fed up of other DAW's not having the same!

Oh, yeah, I forgot.
Right click on pan knob and choose stereo pan.
