The Edge

Post by Tim Halligan »

This track slightly pre-dates the other track I posted - Two Hundred - by a few months...so late '09/early '10.

Lyrics: Phil Grocott.
Music: Tim Halligan.

I played and sang everything.

Guitars were a Fender Custom Shop Strat, and a Japanese Tokai "Love Rock" LP copy...but were clown-fucked through and old Line 6 kidney bean. :hp:

Bass was a Fender Japan Precision Lyte, through a Bellari toob DI.

Drums were BFD2 inexpertly programmed by me.

The whole shamozzle was banged together in Cubase SX3, through a MOTU 896HD interface, and a TC Powercore.

The "if I only knew then what I know now" 20/20 hindsight applies as usual.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Tim

Nice one!
The key is a bit safe for your vocal range, you could have chosen a bit "edgier" range.
I like it, though!

I have a range of about three-and-a-half notes in the key of H Blunt on a good day...

Trust me...you don't want the vocal any edgier than this.

The key was determined by where the intro guitar part fell on the fretboard.

Cheers,
Tim

That is very cool Tim. The vocal is bordering on knopfleresque!
