Team Song proposal

Post by keks »

Hey folks, I slapped something together that got stuck in my head.
I leaned heavily on the drum feel that upstairs referrred to and went wirth an orange feel with a touch of pink.
:drinks:

I attached the file below.

The lyrics read as thus, so far:

Follow upstairs
to the new room
where familiar faces meet.

being reborn
from a womb
that has run i's course indeed.

we#re not playing any games it's rock'n'roll or bust
every rack or larger frame gets used not just discussed

get rec'd...

The end is open for some additional madness and different textures,
so we'll see what happens there.
Any comments?
Critique?

Hahahaha yes. I love it. Clever lyrics. Just the right amount of cheese.

I think it will serve well as a basis. At the end of your demo, it can move into a guitar wankery section, then repeat the whole thing again, maybe altering the lyrics the second time around and adding some instrumentation. Then fade out on a groove with just the rhythm section (including guitar), or just end it on a good old "GET REC'D!"

Then we can mix up a short version that fades out on the middle guitar wank.

I'll listen to it some more though and get a feel for it.

I guess I can just wait until I hear the first ideas come around, and ask if needed.
I suppose the finished arrangement will be worked out between Keks and I, although input is welcome

I can't quite manage that in E.

If you bring the key down to D I could sing it.

I can guitar-wank on any key. Any day. Any style. "Sure, right", you say. Hear me play. Ookah-ookah, yay yay!

I'm glad that you folks like it!

Now, I guess we can bring it down to D, so Nobby could do the vocals.
( There's room for gang vocals, so whoever wants to chime in...)
What about the guitar wankery part, should that just be a (then) Emaj9 vamp?
That would be a great place for synth pads or science experiments.
How do we get back to the "ge rec'd"-part? re-do the intro and directly into the rec'd-part?
(I might habe to redo the transitions, I'll have a go at this when we are set on a form.)

Science!

I'll work out what my imagination tells me the basic chart should look like and upload it here, then you can work out any niggles that go against your vision. Then I'll do the drums and we'll be off.

We'll resume this in a few days. I have some work around the house to attend to for Thanksgiving.

Well, I'm all in to get rich!!
So, here's a question. How attached are you to the guitar parts recorded? :-)
Happy Thanksgiving over there!

Hey, when you have a chance, would you mind posting a version without the guitars? Voice and drums (sans bass too if possible) would do.
And just let me know tempo and sample rate for the song.
Cheers man!

Thanks! Am I or Keks attached to the parts? I assume you have some alternate ideas? I'd be willing to hear them, but the ones Keks wrote are pretty good.

It sounds like we might want to make a prepro demo first to get everything sorted. Probably good for me as well to get the drums in order.

I actually like the parts! Might tweak here and there, but they're pretty neat!

Keks, your demo goes

E - D - A - E -
E D A E
C#m - D -
A C#m D E? (I hear a G# on bass guitar)
F#m

with some 7s or 9s or whatever...I'm not great at picking those out :stg: And I play drums...

right? I'm just getting started. Might have some preliminary drums today or tomorrow.

And of course we'll move it down to D for Nobby.

F#m
that's close.
E - D - A - E - All with E in Bass
E D A E
C#m - D - this here twice
A A/C# D E/G#
F#m whatever

This should do.
And we need it a whole step down for Nobby, iirc?
