Re: Sgt Pepper 50th anniversary remixes
I don't think "cleaning it up" would be an improvement. Sure, as they added generations of 'tape reductions' they added high end ( high shelfing, I think) to compensate for what was lost and there was tape noise, but not excessive like when I tried that at home with a 3340s. By the time yo...

That may be so. The point I was making is that it was mixed as they went along.

Re: Sgt Pepper 50th anniversary remixes
Anyone heard these? If so, what do you think? I've only bought a few songs on iTunes, but I'm not really sure why it was necessary. The differences I do notice don't really seem like improvements to me. Personally I wish they would release the full multitrack transfers, I'd pay for that. It wouldn'...

Re: Stupid Band Names Thread
Upstairs, if you don't mind my asking, who were you @ the Womb?
You know who I am but to me you are a complete stranger.

Re: Stupid Band Names Thread
It won't succeed unless you change the title. Using "stupid" in the title rules out good and clever names.
My thread* was titled: Resource: Band Names
*Which was arguably one of the most successful threads at the Womb, not that that means all that much

Re: Spotify Fake Artists
I'd not heard about this, it's an interesting ruse: Just like Bernie Madoff is an "interesting" guy. Spotify loses money despite ripping off indies. This scheme allows them to rip off majors as well by diluting the payments among fake as well as real payees. So Spotify takes its 30% + off...

Re: How about this!
Just doing a small amount of research it would seem that a good 90% of what is being called "new releases" is decades old major label stuff along with Adele, Taylor Swift and Jack White. This makes perfect sense because: Unless they want to remaster it, all the majors have to do is dust of...
