It would likely increase our gear costs by 25-30%, judging by Europe. You didn't even skim the outline, let alone watch the interview. Actually I did skim the outline, not that I really needed too. Due to the fact that there's nearly nothing on TV most of the time I spend far more time that I want ...

Sorry to hear that. As for the silvery sphere, it probably went through faster than you think but you guys were one toke over the line. Nope. Definitely slooow. At least Yang is trying to address the problem rather than regurgitating up more "progressive" talking points. My problem with his "Universal Basic Income" is that real estate interests will most likely gobble that money right up leaving us right back where we started. Not to me...

People are always looking for reasons why it “won’t work” It works You adjust what you need to adjust; including asking the player to play appropriately and sometimes to slightly move some items if it doesn’t throw her off. They could record Keith Moon with 3 mics. You can do it too. I thought he w...

I'll need to read that more closely, but I must say that I'm opposed to the idea of VAT under any circumstances. It would likely increase our gear costs by 25-30%, judging by Europe. Remember, the people we need to win over are for the most part under-educated and very susceptible to propagandizing by the same right wing network that "coincidentally" happens to control nearly all major league sports media in the US. Don't underestimate the power that goes with that. T...

RIP Aspen Pittman

Aspen Pittman, founder of Groove Tubes and all around interesting audio guy and entertaining party animal was killed in a traffic accident a couple days ago. I first met Aspen when I was working at Don Wehr's back in the mid '80s with my friend Joey Swails and it turned into a very memorable evening...

I think the pandering to the centre, and especially to imaginary convinceable Trump voters, is starting to fall apart; as the failed strategy that it always was. "pandering to the center" doesn't have anything to do with it. Even framing the question in those terms reveals a disturbingly ...

I 100% agree with you there, one side is very obviously worse, but the problem is only having two "sides". Decisions are made out of loyalty and spite, rather than concern and regard for actual policy. Again, that is far more true for one particular party and it's supporters, but at this ...

I've been saying Harris is going to get the nomination for a while. She's the woman to beat at the moment. She's also the only one who didn't seem like she was acting, which was part of Trump's appeal. I like Harris. She's about the only SF Democrat that I do like. I still like Beto better - he's t...

I'm still for Beto but I do like Liz a lot. The only problem with her is that she might be too scary to a lot of people in middle America (although her programs would greatly benefit just those people.) I'm becoming rather concerned about Pelosi's slow tracking of action vs Rump. She's a great tacti...

Who is "we"? The Democrats blew it big last time by shunning Bernie. It's time for the two party system to go, and a serious overhaul of our entire political structure. I disagree, with what I believe is ample evidence. Just look at the mess that Italy (and similar countries) make of thei...

And now we have 23 candidates for President. And no clear strategy to take back the Senate. Re: Drum Recording Dissertation - Overheads And Phase Coherency

When I first started recording I didn't know what anyone else was doing. I naturally settled on a "forehead-height" mic above snare & bass drum mic. Just seems like the right thing to do. That was after sticking various cheap microphones in mayonaise jars to keep them from distorting....
