It is front of kit. I was stunned the first time I tried it. I later learned that it had been SOP in Muscle Shoals.

It's been happening off and on for decades. The power bill for a transmitter has come down a bunch thanks to class D amplification.

Re: Impact of Autotune and Beat detective.
Music is communicating emotions. Part of the process is tension against even time and pitch and its effect on breath and heartbeat. Out-A-Tuna and Beat-Dick are a head trip that has ruined the effectiveness and profitability of popular music.

Re: just...eh?
What you are looking for is a balance of the head, heart and groin. Heartbeat is determined by the breath while singing. The right tempo is the foundation of connecting with other people to share the emotional experience. Where the head comes in is finding enough variation for the experience to not ...

The fade out was an integral part of the loudness wars on vinyl. Level on a 45 drops like a rock at 3 minutes.

Re: United Masters
The Beatles and the Grateful Dead both found a way around every conventional concept of music promotion. Live recording no longer requires a truck and storage is dirt cheap so people who are really great no longer need a studio or much money. The only thing is that they do have to be really great.

What a crock of bullish!t. Apple just bought the largest music and movie catalog in India too. Kill off the old music biz with piracy and then replace it with distribution you can control. The problem is that they assume that music is a commodity. I'm sticking to my old pfart view that some kids are...

What's important is that the bass player is listening to exactly what gets recorded. Ear to finger integrity is crucial for all musicians or the dynamics are wrong.

This affected all people using old versions of the iLock manager and was not specific to particular plug-ins. My understanding is that because it operates at a very low system level, each version is time bombed to make it less susceptible to malware compromises. What sucks is that both Apple and Mic...

I'm showing my age but some of my high school friends were earning $100 a night each, i.e. their bands got paid $500 a night in the mid 1960s. They could look forward to earning a middle class living playing music. That all went away by the '70s and musicians' pay has been a downward spiral since th...
