I was more wondering if he "used to be" just because of retiring, or if he messed up somewhere. Could be either, but I'd guess the latter given his assholery.

Re: CARP 1: Theme Song, team Alwegot

I wrote this tune to the tom groove you specified in your directional post, you remember? And, do you need additional parts or ideas for a cohesive form? Or do we add as we go? Yes, I don't want to slow it down very much. Just a tad. I'll see if I can get those toms in there. I think the guitars th...

Alright, I've got an 87 coming in. When that's here I figure I'll use it as a front-of-kit mic, or perhaps a mono overhead if FOK doesn't work out. I'll slow down the tempo as we agreed upon, and we can get this going again.

Re: professionalism in a difficult environment

My sounds are nor modern and slick enough, e.g. not the Nickelback kind of saturated guitar but more the Plexi style rock rhythm. Not the meaty piezoelectric acoustic, but an expensive instrument with a quality pick up for some air and sheen for duo playing. Perhaps what the band leader means by &q...

For ITB stuff I always seem to just use the Oxford suite most of the time, mainly because I like the interface. Also laziness.

My mixes improved dramatically once I stopped obsessing over tiny details. Now my most common studio mumble is "yeah this sounds like shit, retrack".

This is one me and my buddy Ricky did a few years back. He did the singing and wrote the lyrics while I played all the instruments, from what I can remember. We co-wrote the instrumentation. Have you considered forgetting about the whole stereo thing entirely? I split the track and listened to both left and right solo'd after panning each to center.
