Re: corona virus
It's no different than the flu would be IF we had no tests, vaccines, herd immunity or methods of treating the flu. So what do we do? Shut down the economy long enough to keep the hospitals functioning for everybody or let most of the customers die which would probably shut down the economy for good.

They need the dixiecrat vote to stay in power. It's all about corruption using religion as an enabler.

I have no doubt that the loss of over the air broadcasting and live show income will probably be immense. i doubt that anybody knows more than that.

Re: Andrew Yang
I can't see how tariffs could bring jobs back. Sending the work abroad only delayed automation. As that begins, shipping becomes the greatest expense which will lead to local assembly becoming SOP. A few new jobs would be created but nothing that would stop the bleeding. The elephant in the womb is ...

At least Yang is trying to address the problem rather than regurgitating up more "progressive" talking points. My problem with his "Universal Basic Income" is that real estate interests will most likely gobble that money right up leaving us right back where we started.

Re: Drum Recording Dissertation - Overheads And Phase Coherency
The first guy I assisted always miked the snare from the side and only added a bass drum mike. The other guy at that studio used a very high overhead and a bass drum mike. Motown used a forehead height U67 and a 666 or 77 on the bass drum. All of these used bass drums filled mostly with newspaper st...

Re: Drum Recording Dissertation - Overheads And Phase Coherency
I'm not sure it's that modified. I saw it that way in a picture, tried it out and really liked it. When I did Jeff Beck, Micky Most asked for me to "duck the cymbals." The only way I could think of was to switch both mikes to figure-8. I liked that even better and have done it that way eve...

That's exactly how I recorded the drums on Rare Earth's "I Just Want to Celebrate" except for a 57 on the snare.

Re: They don't make music like they used to
When Bob Orban was researching the effect of broadcast processing, they found that most people change the station after a minute or so of any uber-smashed recording they aren't already really in love with. The folks at the labels know this but they've signed "complete creative control" ove...
